72 Hour Shootout part 8

Filed under: Uncategorized — Me @ 10:40 pm

Just reviewed all the footage. No need for any reshoots! Every scene we wanted has footage that we can use! Very productive today! All the actors were great to work with!

72 Hour Shootout part 4

Woke up on the couch around 8:15am. Erwin came by and we shot our first scene outside. Despite being groggy and on 1.5 hours sleep the scene was more hilarious then I thought. Finished that first shot around 9.

Then shot some interior shots and now waiting for our new actress that Erwin met at the launch party last night.

Just finished writing the script. Rachel, Erwin, JT and I were bouncing ideas off each other, finally came up with premise, fleshed out logistics and started drafting it. Time for quick shuteye. We shoot in 4 hours!

Cuchi-Cabaret

Filed under: Uncategorized — Me @ 11:00 pm

The film shoot got postponed due to the rain so spent some extra time in the city with JT. Afterwards went to the auditions for the Cuchi-Cabaret in Jersey City.

Can’t believe it my theatre company is putting on a cabaret. Never would have imagined it in a million years and I’m setting up for 2011 to put up a musical!

Times sure have changed.

Screenplay “Table Reading”

Yesterday went to a table reading of my friend’s screenplay. We all met in Jersey City and took up 4 tables in a deli inside Journal Square. This was the first time I actually got to “read” the screenplay. I have a problem reading screenplays. Don’t know exactly why. Plays, on the other hand, I have less difficulty getting through but in both instances getting a talented group of people to read scripts is my preference.

We all had a good time and I do like the screenplay. As of right now, I’ll be helping out with the production. I want to get my hands dirty with working on a production at this level. So that should occupy my time this fall.

Also met some very cool people, one who drove me home, another who used to live 2 blocks from me whose sister I did know back in grammar school.

Also told one of my other friends, “Baby Mama” about the webisode project and wanted to see if she wanted to play one of the many secondary characters in the series which incidentally is in the one episode we started and have a very rough first draft on. She said “Yes.” so we have all the characters we have for that episode. Just need to tighten it up a little and then hopefully start shooting it in July.

Upcoming Projects

Never thought I would be so busy this year. “Who Am I” and “Anonymous” just finished this year. The former being a play I wrote back in 2001 and the latter being the most recent one I wrote in 2007. Both having full fledged productions this year and still more projects for the last half.

Upcoming Projects:
72 Hour Asian American Lab contest beginning and encompassing this coming weekend. You basically get a vauge premise on Friday night at 8pm and have 72 hours to write, shoot, edit and submit a 5 min short.

Webisode series that my friend JT and I created. We already have a first draft set up, just need to edit it and start pre-production. The premise is great (I think) and it should be alot of fun.

This isn’t including Cuchipinoy stuff…more on that later.
